Behind the Lens
My name is Sebastian. My journey into photography began in 2020, during college, when I picked up a camera as a creative outlet, a way to breathe amid the chaos of exams and deadlines. What started as a hobby quickly became something I couldn't put down. I spent the following years learning, experimenting, and refining my craft one shoot at a time.
I graduated as a mechanical engineer, and while it may seem like an unexpected path into photography, the two are more connected than you'd think. Engineering taught me to see the world through precision, to notice light, angles, and structure the way I once noticed forces and tolerances. That same eye for detail now shapes every frame I capture.
Born and raised in New Jersey, with Dominican and Salvadoran roots running deep, my Latino heritage is woven into the very fabric of who I am. It shapes the warmth I pour into every session, the genuine connections I build with the people in front of my lens, and the heart behind every image I create. When I'm not behind the camera, you'll likely find me outdoors either hiking a new trail, traveling somewhere unfamiliar, or simply soaking in nature (…and if there's a Real Madrid match on, I'm probably watching that too). That same curiosity and appreciation for the world around me is why I love this work in the first place. Every session is a new story, a new person, a new moment worth slowing down for.
At the heart of it all, what I love most is capturing smiles; the real, unfiltered ones that happen when someone feels truly seen. That's the moment I'm always chasing, and it's why I approach every shoot with the same values: showing up prepared and on time, communicating honestly from our first conversation to your final gallery, and putting in the work behind the scenes so the experience feels effortless on your end. When you book with me, you're not just booking a photographer — you're booking someone who genuinely cares about doing right by you and your story.
